~ twenty one. ~

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Pros:
15 hrs longer than usual.
spent in beautiful yosemite national park.

Cons:
i miss home.
i miss my friends.
even though i'm with my frens traveling around now, and they did wish me happy bday, but the feeling is jsut different.

to quote irritating lionel seah: i'd rather be taupoked in hall and get cake all over my face. at least it shows the <3>

i'll have lots of memories of the places i went to on this trip to remember by; to tell myself how lucky am i to be able to spend my bday in such a place.

but i'd rather trade the place for the bonds that i have back in singapore. just for this day alone. sigh. Lucky there's fb to keep me going, to remind me of everything back home.

sigh. i'm emo lonely hungry and sleepy.
San Francisco is so cold it's giving me a flu. sigh.

so much to say but i dno how to put it into words ):

~ Anniversary ~

Friday, August 7, 2009

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot. Okay, not unusual, except that this time round it wasn’t easy to put my finger on what was bothering me. So it took a while, and this was the result.

I’ve been, well, catching up with people lately. You know, all those people you meet along this winding road we call life, then stop seeing regularly once you hit a different checkpoint, and at certain rest stops, decide to call them up for a chat to see how they’re doing? And you remember how you used to have fun with them?

So yeah. I’ve been doing a lot of that.

And every time I do, it feels like a piece of the puzzle is missing. A piece that isn’t so important that you can’t see the main subject of the picture but annoys the hell out of you just because it makes it feel so incomplete.

I just figured out what that piece was.

As much fun as I have with them, when I’m with you, all of you, it transcends fun.

With all we’ve been through together, playing, teasing, bitching, taking comfort in each other, it’s more than enjoying ourselves. Having seen the best and worst of one another, there isn’t really much to hide.

They say real friends have our backs whether it’s a clear sunny day or being caught in a storm with no frickin’ shelter. Personally, I think it’s more like knowing when to scold you for being an idiot for not bringing an umbrella even as they shelter you from said storm.

That’s why, this day when I’m officially going to be responsible for all my own actions, I dedicate to you, my friends, da bestest best clique. Because I know that when I’m happy, you’ll be happy for me, when I’m sad, you’ll cheer me up, (when I’m annoyed, you’ll leave me alone to get over it), when I’m being stupid, you’ll whack me on the head and tell me I’m being stupid.

And I also don’t see the need for a party because every time we meet is a carnival of sorts. A celebration of all the years we’ve travelled along this road together. A festival of friendship.

Thank you for that friendship.

I was looking around at some book binding sites and i found this webbie:

http://www.cailun.info/

Cai Lun is inventor of paper. The blog's author is Dennis Yuen, an artist and award-winning designer who works with a range of media including: book arts, interactive media, photography, film and video.

His work is really inspiring i think but require a lot of skills to achieve the same results. Some examples:

~ my thoughts ~

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Bekahyap: would it be an online thing or will it have a physical shop too? if it's online we might have some problem publicising it. and also will the business be easily copied? in the sense that someone esle can easily open another thing that does the same thing as us? might need to think abt how we can mkae it more unique..

Just saw ur msg, bekah. I am think online shop will be more logical as we may be able to save on a number of cost. Have a physical shop doesn't mean that it will be easier to publicise as we are not established. Regarding the qn abt will the business be easily copied, maybe we can do some research into it. So far i haven seen a lot of shops selling those. And bookbinding is actually a very versatile art. There is a lot of ways to bind a book, like exposed stitching, or hidden stitiching. Glue or glueless. Acordian (shucks i can't spell...) books, japanese stabbing technique. .. hahahaha I guess to a certain degree it is can be copied. About the uniqueness point, i think i need more brain cells to think abt it. lol Maybe with the option to customise?

My friend has an online store but she sells decorated notebooks. Like she buys blank notebooks and sell them off after decorating.

~ One idea ~

Monday, July 20, 2009

I was thinking abt ideas for our "business".... I mentioned this to she she before. Maybe we could see handmade books with the options to customise?

Not sure about what u all think of it?

Anyways, my internship has ended and I want to thank all of u for being there for me when I was feeling down! I love you!!!
